Yesterday, as soon as we learned of the rumor of the arrival of Johann Zarco in the LCR team to replace Takaaki Nakagami during the last three races of the season, like all the French-speaking world of MotoGP we sought to assess the degree of veracity of this Italian-Iberian smoke.

Obviously, reliable sources of information are not numerous and everyone spent the afternoon calling the same people…

From this stage, our conviction was made: there was indeed an offer from LCR Honda to Johann Zarco.

Then, once certain of this fact, we requested official confirmation from Lucio Cecchinello himself, certainly the best placed to possibly explain to us what the issues and expectations of Honda were regarding this proposal.

Here is the answer obtained from the owner of the LCR Honda team: “Regarding Zarco, I cannot confirm. Honda and we will inform you of this news as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding. » Which is exactly the same response as that given to our colleagues at speedweek.

Obviously, if the news was false, Lucio Cecchinello would have denied it, and this is therefore the classic type of response from someone who does not deny, and therefore implicitly confirms, but has someone else above him who manages communication.

Above LCR, there is only Honda, and we have never seen Honda express itself on something that did not exist…

However, and even if this seems to be an excellent and unexpected opportunity for Johann zarco, its realization would not be carried out in the greatest simplicity, since the French driver would first have to carefully evaluate the relationships he maintains not only with KTM, but also with Yamaha and Suzuki…

The subject of Johann Zarco's return has only just begun, and that's good!
