As Director of Ducati Corse, Luigi Dall'Igna is the most senior person to represent the Italian manufacturer in the field of competition. He was lucky in Argentina that neither of his two official bikes were involved in the incidents. Only Danilo Petrucci was more or less affected, but he is part of the Pramac satellite team.

The two official Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo each expressed their views regarding the incidents at Termas de Rio Hondo, sometimes quite bluntly like Dovi: “ This time Marc managed his business very badly. He had shown that he was the fastest in all conditions. He should have gone home with a good result ».

According to Luigi Dall’Igna, “ Marc has clearly crossed the line. He could have taken his time to improve things.

“I understand that the problem at the start stressed him out, but he was too nervous during the race.

“With more peace of mind, he could have had a wonderful race », declared the general director of Ducati Corse at www.corrieredellosport.it

Regarding the excuses rejected by the Doctor at the end of the race, for Dall'Igna “This war is always bad for our sport, but we are all men and we act in a way that is not always very brilliant. It's part of the human condition ».

Instead, for the contractual situation at Ducati, Dall'Igna is optimistic: “ I think we will eventually reach an agreement with Dovizioso, but these are still important contracts and it is normal that there is a tug of war between the two parties.

“It’s part of the game and I don’t see it as a problem. As for Lorenzo, now is not the time to talk about the contract. You'll have to wait a bit to see how it goes. »
