Hervé Poncharal

It is with both relief and excitement that Hervé Poncharal appears at the head of his Tech3 troops in front of the Sepang track for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix. A relief because this is the last test of the grueling overseas tour before returning to good old Europe. But excitement too because this time, its rookie drivers will not arrive in unknown territory, having traveled the Malaysian circuit during the off-season, with quite good memories…

Furthermore, positive notes were withdrawn from the last meeting held in Australia last week, so thatHervé Poncharal addresses this penultimate round of the season as follows: “ a few days later the positive weekend we spent on Phillip Island with Rémy Gardner and Raul Fernandez, we are already ready for the next round in Sepang, Malaysia. This time, both drivers will already know the circuit very well after the winter tests and will have references with Michelin tires, carbon brakes, etc… ».

He adds on this aspect: “ while it probably won't be a massive advantage, I hope at least they'll be on par with the rest of the class... They both had good feelings on their bikes in February, and all we can hope is that they get those feelings back, as they both look to feed off the positives from the last race in Australia ».

Hervé Poncharal: “ we don't know what to expect weather-wise »

Less than Sepang will be very different from Phillip Island in many ways: “ the conditions will be very different as we go from windy and chilly weather to hot and humid weather, which should be physically difficult for all drivers. We don't know what to expect weather-wise, as we could be hit by tropical showers... Everything is possible in Malaysia! » recalls the French boss.

Hervé Poncharal finished : " Anyway, we are ready to finish these overseas races, which have been interesting but long and tiring, on a good note before returning to Europe for the Grand Finale of the season MotoGP 2022 ».
