Marc Márquez will undoubtedly have bad memories of qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang.

In the wheel of fabio quartararo, the Honda driver actually lost control of his RC213V in turn #2, before flying off and falling violently on one foot, then on his knees, hands and helmet.

However, the one who combines an incredible talent as an acrobat with an exceptional ability not to get hurt was hard at work the next morning, as if nothing had happened...

The manufacturer of its leather, Alpinestars, has nevertheless published the data relating to this fall, and the figures are impressive.

The upper body shock generated an acceleration of 26,27 G, slightly higher than that which Marc Márquez had already suffered in Buriram (26,14 G), three weeks previously.

Alpinestars also recalls that Loris Baz had received a 29,9 G shock to his left shoulder in 2016 at Sepang.

Fortunately in this case, the Tech Air system was triggered approximately 1,2 seconds after the Catalan lost control, and especially 0,855 seconds before the first contact with the ground. Between the first contact of the foot and the stopping of the roll, Marc Márquez had to wait for 2,91 seconds.

The sensors integrated into the number 93 suit are even capable of accurately differentiating the different phases of the fall, as shown in the graph below.
