Johann Zarco put in a solid performance in free practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix. The French driver showed encouraging pace and came close to qualifying directly for Q2. Unfortunately, a small mistake and traffic prevented him from doing so.
Johann zarco, pilot Honda LCR, completed the first day of testing on the international circuit of Sepang in 13th place, but he did not lose his optimism. Although the Frenchman was in the hunt for a place in Q2, he showed resilience and determination throughout the day.
zarco showed good pace on a track he particularly likes. After sorting out a few details in the morning session, he set off in the afternoon with a desire to do well. The tests were superb., better than expected, but we missed out on Q2 place ", said zarco, recognizing the high level of competition. He knows that to achieve his goals, every detail counts. I should have done a perfect lap, but it was not easy to achieve " he added, referring to the small mistakes and traffic on the track that prevented him from shining.

Despite this slight disappointment, the French driver remains confident. This weekend we have the potential to do some good work, even though the situation can sometimes be difficult for us ", he said, highlighting the evolution he has observed since his last visit to the circuit. This positive attitude could well play in his favour during the next sessions and especially during qualifying.
Johann zarco knows he has to persevere and that with a bit of luck and impeccable riding, he could quickly climb the rankings. With renewed determination, he prepares for the rest of the weekend at Sepang, ready to get the most out of his machine and fight for a place on the starting grid.
