Marini Malaysia

Luca Marini had a good Sprint in Malaysia. The Honda official, on the upward slope, was noticed yesterday for having quite firmly underlined the impertinence of the new Honda package. The improvements made by the engineers in Japan made him regress, which did not bode well for next year, as you can imagine. And yet, today, everything was going better for him. This 15th place, if it does not give him any points in the Sprint, could earn him a point tomorrow.

The Italian, now frequently in front of his teammate Joan Mir – who, however, has known the bike since the beginning of 2023 –, spoke about his performance. What is certain is that he was much calmer than yesterday. « We had a decent race, I started well and managed to fight in the first laps. Our pace was not yet that of the other riders and I was risking too much to stay in the 1'59, so I could not stay with the group in front of me. he asserted.

The proposed improvements were not accepted, but the team did their best to satisfy him. "Overall, I think we have taken a step forward from yesterday, which is positive and I want to thank my team for doing a lot of things overnight" he continued.

That said, he thinks there is more to be had. Why not aim for even more points, with some clever improvements. The rain could also have a say in that if it shows up in Malaysia. « There are still some improvements to be made, especially in straight-line braking, so I hope we can make progress in that regard.. Let's see what happens tomorrow, there is still a lot to do." he concluded.
