Marco Bezzecchi has a most anecdotal weekend in Malaysia. Only 14th after qualifying, he could do no better than 10th at the end of the Sprint, a very poor result for someone who frequently competed for victories with the best drivers in the world last year. Bezzecchi had a strange 2024 season, and even if it is not over yet, it must be recognized that it was disappointing in more ways than one. In any case, he never ceases to give us acerbic and always honest comments when he drops the leather.
The "Bez" had one of his worst qualifying sessions in his career at Sepang. A 14th place in Q1 condemned him. « We are experiencing many difficulties, I am not satisfied. We made progress in the Sprint, I was able to fight with Pedro Acosta and Jack Miller, but the front tyre limited me. I hope to make more progress tomorrow. The podium will be very difficult to aim for, but we have to believe in it. I think I can be better on a longer race » he said to the microphones of GP One.

A long-time close friend of Pecco Bagnaia, Marco Bezzecchi spoke about him, and did not spare that famous turn number 9, where Pecco Bagnaia – perhaps – lost the world title. « This is the hardest turn, in my opinion. It's done in a bastard way, it's a shitty turn."There are a lot of bumps caused by passing cars, you can't take the ideal trajectory there." he continued very frankly.
Accustomed to defending his colleague, Bezzecchi spoke about Bagnaia's title chances, which are now almost nil. « Pecco is an extremely strong driver, he has already proven it in the past. I think he will be in the running tomorrow, this morning he had an incredible pole position and he doesn't lack speed. Afterwards, for the ranking, it's more difficult, you have to be realistic. Let's see what he can do tomorrow first." he concluded.
