Mir

What a performance from Joan Mir in Malaysia! The 2020 MotoGP world champion returned to the podium after Motegi, regaining the confidence lost yesterday in his crash at the start of the Sprint. For the past few months, Mir has been happier and more serene. The change took place in Austria, a weekend during which Honda officials adopted new life-saving solutions – a date that also coincides with Johann Zarco's descent into hell. Mir has just secured a podium, of course, but he wants much more.

It is always difficult to predict Mir's results given its number of stratospheric falls., certainly, but when he's having a good day, he can tickle the best of them. « In recent months, when things were going less well, I sometimes found myself short of arguments during interviews.. But never giving up and always giving your all eventually pays off and makes moments like this third place even more special." we read in the columns of speedweek.

After years spent in "hell", Joan Mir is pleased with his mentality and that of his team, who never gave up. “Not only we, the drivers, but the team too, never give up. This ranking is a reward for them too » he insisted.

As a double world champion – he also won the Moto3 title at the end of 2017 – Joan Mir obviously wants more than third places in the future: Honda's ambition has definitely been rediscovered. « Our main goal is to score a few more points than those in third place. We aim higher, and the Malaysian Grand Prix has brought us closer to that goal." he concluded.
