Marc Marquez

The Qatar Grand Prix gave Marc Marquez a performance that seemingly exceeded his expectations, starting from sixth place to quickly enter the fight for the podium. Despite a fierce fight with young Pedro Acosta and finishing just behind the leaders, Marquez finished the race in fourth position, flirting with the podium in the final moments of the race.

« I was ready to do anything to get on this podium. I saved the front tire thinking about the end of the race, hoping to catch Jorge Martin. It was almost done…but it doesn't matter. If I had been told in Valencia that I would finish the first race in fourth position, I would have signed straight away,” recognized Marc Marquez, thus promoting his result.

Marc Marquez: “ Bagnaia left us behind by 3 seconds, we will study his data »

The Losail track, far from being his favorite, did not prevent the eight-time World Champion to appreciate its result: “ this circuit has never been my strong point, and a fourth place here is very satisfying ».

He now turns to the analysis of this first race, seeking to understand the improvements necessary to compete against the competition, in particular Francis Bagnaia, the reigning world champion: “ we will study the data. Bagnaia left us behind by 3 seconds, and it is from him that we must learn to raise our level of competition » he readily admits by way of conclusion. A self-effacing and studious posture which does not escape observers in the paddock. So, Luca Cadalora, former Champion 250cc (2) and 125cc rider commented after the Qatar Grand Prix : " Marc did two different races than we were used to. Learning races, where he knew how to stay calm and manage all situations. He used his head more in these two races than in the last two years"
