Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez is gradually regaining possession of his space while he is still working on his convalescence, which he can now intensify. He received the green light to get back on a motorcycle and he is in close contact with Honda staff with a view to the 2023 opus which must be a success. Otherwise, he will look elsewhere after 2024. And he is not kidding. By giving notice to his manager Emilio Alzamora, who had overseen him since the age of 12, he showed that he was ready to make the sacrifices necessary to return to the top of the food chain in MotoGP. A truthful speech that also applies to his new teammates…

Car Marc Marquez will have new colleagues. In his box, Pol Espargaro will no longer be his neighbor, at LCR-Honda, there will no longer be his brother Alex, as for the case of Taka Nakagami, its relations with it are asymptotes of zero. Incidentally, even if the results are lacking, its rating remains strong, to the point that the Japanese seems to be well and truly on the path to renewal.

So the message he sends is for alex rins, and undoubtedly Joan Mir, from which we await confirmation of its arrival under Repsol colors in the coming days. On the only one of the two which is confirmed for the moment, he comments: “ next year we will have at least one new driver on board, namely Alex Rins. He is a rider who already has a lot of experience at Suzuki. And he's fast ". We will recall that the same Kidneys has already declared itself eager to make its contribution to the development of Honda. But like an echo, Marc Marquez declared that the Tokyo firm's current problems would in no way be resolved by " a change of drivers ».

Marc Marquez: “ my teammate? My goal is to beat him«

And as for Joan mir ? He answers : " let's see who my teammate will be. But it will certainly be interesting to have another driver from another manufacturer ". Then he blurted out: “ I don't want to know who it is. I don't care if he's a rookie or a world champion like Joan Mir. My goal is to beat him. I want both bikes to be there to win, whether on one side of the box or the other, like they were in 2013 when I arrived at Honda ».

Whoever arrives will be the fifth teammate of Marc Marquez, who has been riding for the Honda factory team since his time in MotoGP in 2013. For the first six years, he shared the Repsol space with Dani Pedrosa. It was followed by Jorge Lorenzo, who left after just one season. Alex Marquez took over the vacant place as a rookie in 2020. Because his older brother broke his right arm in the season opener at Jerez, he rode in the team with Honda test rider Stefan Bradl for the rest of the season. Pol Espargaro then joined him in 2021, but only for two years. Whose turn is it for this dangerous position?
