Marc Marquez is flamboyant on the track and the impressive track record he builds with each Grand Prix that passes seems to make him invincible. But he would nevertheless have a weak point: his physique. He trains of course. He is even sharper than ever. But in the past, he has had weaknesses in this area. Vision was a problem for him after a crash and he had to end a Moto2 season prematurely because of it. Now, it is the shoulder that appears to be the Achilles heel...

This is not the first time Marc Marquez regrets a dislocated shoulder after an impact. A sort of inevitability since the pilot manages to recover it regularly. But the celebration of Japan and the enthusiasm of the strong Scott Redding towards him was perhaps one time too many.

Thus, alongside his comments on a first day at Phillip Island where he recorded his twentieth fall of the season, he announced that he would go to the knife next December. He explains : " my doctor knows exactly what to do ". And for good reason since we learn that it is a family defect! “ My brother Alex has already undergone this operation. It's like a stop in the shoulder that we put in place, a sort of limit. In the numerous dislocations, each time the bone comes out, it is as if sanded. The articulation is in fact finer and finer. And the phenomenon therefore occurs more easily ».

« They will put a blade or a bolt, I don't know, then it will be better. I will have surgery in the first week of December. Recovery time is one and a half months. Then I will be in great shape again. So I can recover my shoulder in mid-January, three weeks before the first test in Sepang ».

He finishes : " maybe that left shoulder was my weak point of the season. He actually dislocated several times during training ».
