While Ducati reigns supreme in the MotoGP championship with an unbroken run of podiums and victories, Aprilia and KTM are engaged in a fierce battle for second place in the constructors' standings. In an interview with speedweek, Aprilia Racing boss Massimo Rivola shared his analysis of the situation and his team's strategy to stay ahead of their Austrian rivals.

For nearly 60 Consecutive Grand Prix, Ducati places at least one driver on the podium. Aside from Texas, where Maverick Vinales shone with a victory for Aprilia, the pilots Ducati have dominated most of the races this season. Casa Particular in Viñales, currently seventh in the world rankings after a poor performance in Aragon, remains the best representative ofAprilia.

In the constructors' championship, Aprilia is in third place, ten points behind KTM. But for Rivola, this battle is far from over: " It's not much, just a few points “, he says. " Things could be very different after the next race, so we are not satisfied yet. Our goal is to finish second »

Asked how Aprilia managed to catch up KTM in terms of technology, Rivola does not hide his optimism. We have a better bike because we are a better company " he says with conviction.

Massimo Rivola: “ Now Aprilia has a fairly competitive structure »

According to him, the key to success lies in time and human resource management. It took us some time to build our structure, improve our methods and our knowledge. Now we have a fairly competitive structure. Ultimately, it's people who make the difference.. Once you have reached a certain level of stability, you must continue to working hard and pushing the limits, because there will always be competitors who will challenge you »

Rivola recognizes, however, the considerable efforts of KTM these last years : " KTM did a good job. They understood the importance of aerodynamics, an area we had prioritized earlier. They pushed very hard and took a clear step forward.. » He adds that Yamaha et Honda, although struggling this season, also seem to be making progress.

Massimo rivola recognizes the current dominance of Ducati but remains confident in his team's abilities. The championship is interesting – apart from the eight Ducatis on the track. Next year, They will have fewer motorcycles, but they still have this data.. And their worst bike will be that of the world champion. »

With the stakes so high and a fierce battle for second place, the end of the season promises to be thrilling for Aprilia et KTM.
