Maverick Viñales is not coming out of a positive period with his Yamaha. It is the least we can say. Before the start of this season, he displayed the ambition of presenting himself as the leader of the Iwata firm. However, he was first beaten by Fabio Quartararo at Jerez 1, then he suffered the same fate at Jerez 2 with, in addition, a lesson given by Valentino Rossi. Brno followed and was synonymous with disappointment. Finally, the double dose of Red Bull Ring clipped his wings, with some nice scares to boot. And now ? The Top Gun regains the positive attitude...

So far this season, there have been four different drivers up for grabs from the five races already held, while in 2019 there were 5 winners from 19 meetings, with  Marc Márquez won 12 out of 19. The season is therefore open, as it is short and intense. In this whirlwind, Maverick Vinales often finds himself in turmoil. He thus takes stock of this start to the campaign which is, to say the least, agitated…

“You have to be convinced and enjoy each circuit”

« It's very difficult, because in my case we failed three races in a row, it's like we had three zeros. In Brno I had a problem with the rear tire, then in Austria a clutch failure and then I lost my brake. Everything is very open, it changes a lot from one circuit to another. Maybe now, when we arrive at Misano, the Yamaha will work and we will dominate again. Or it will be the case of the Ducati. It's a very strange world championship » commented the official Yamaha .

« You have to continue to believe in it. I'd rather make mistakes and get in trouble now than at the end of the year. You have to be motivated, I am sure that very good opportunities will present themselves to us ". He adds : " Misano is a circuit that I like and I feel comfortable there. I will go out with the maximum, to win and be in front of what is important. Finally, I think that in this championship, you have to be convinced and enjoy each circuit. The most difficult circuits for us have already passed and now we have to have fun » concludes the Spaniard, currently fourth in the provisional general classification.
