Miguel Oliveira is ready for a new challenge on four wheels. Today the MotoGP rider will make his debut at the Casinos do Algarve Rally.

The test with Aprilia RNF in Valencia finished, Miguel Oliveira faces a new challenge. All four wheels are in order as the MotoGP rider will make his debut at the Casinos do Algarve Rally (November 11-13). The 27-year-old driver from Charneca da Caparica will drive a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 and will be supervised by Ricardo Teodósio, 2021 national champion and one of the benchmark drivers in Portuguese rallies.
Miguel Oliveira is not a beginner in motorsport
A championship debut, but not an absolute car debut for the Portuguese driver. This happened in November 2018 in Estoril at the wheel of a Hyundai i20 R5, a brand whose Olive tree became an ambassador just four years ago. In September 2021, he competed in the 24 Hours of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, this time with a KTM X-Bow GTX, finishing 2nd.
Last December, however, he achieved success at the Portuguese Speed Championship stage in Estoril with a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup. We arrive in July 2022: with his father Paulo as a teammate, Olive tree triumphed in the TCR category in the second round of the CPV in Vila Real driving a Hyundai i30N. Definitely successful precedents, we will see how he does in this challenge.
We will recall his reaction at the end of the Valencia test which he completed with the fourth performance when he was only discovering theAprilia : " really going fast wasn't in my plans, at least on Tuesday, but things ended up happening and I felt perfectly comfortable on the bike. I had a lot of fun. The truth is that I don't know the limits of the bike and I still feel a little far from them. The stone has been laid and to get the championship off to a good start is our goal.”
