This week, the MotoGP World Championship makes its comeback, to the delight of speed fans. But not only ! Currently at 18e place in the championship with 15 points, Miguel Oliveira, like his colleagues, is also impatient to get back on the track after having passed his motorcycle license during the holidays.

During the last Grand Prix in Germany, the Portuguese driver unfortunately crashed on the second lap which caused him to lose 2 seconds before taking full advantage of his new carbon swingarm and having a very good race.

Despite a slightly damaged RC16, he set the fastest lap of the KTMs and set consistent times which allowed him to cross the finish line one second behind Francesco Bagnaia and sixteen behind his own teammate.

Since his debut in MotoGP, his best result is 11e place in Argentina. He also entered the Top 15 four other times: in Qatar (12th), during the Grand Prix of the Americas (14th), in France (15th) and in the Netherlands (13th).

For this 10e round which will take place this weekend in the Czech Republic, the KTM rider's objective is simple: to rediscover the sensations and the rhythm that he had in Germany.

« We left the Sachsenring with a bitter taste in our mouths, but we certainly had one of our best races there this year. My pace was very good, unfortunately I crashed. At the end of the summer break, we will look to keep the same level of speed and consistency that we showed in Germany, and simply have a better second half of the season. To start, we need to get a good result in Brno, it's a track I like. KTM has a lot of information on this track from previous tests, so hopefully we can take advantage of that and start stronger already on Friday ».
