Miguel Oliveira has slowly embarked on a MotoGP adventure which he is beginning for the first of his career this season. Far from the mark during the first tests of the off-season, he was able to reduce the gap with his opponents, the first of whom were those equipped with the same bike as him: the KTM. If Pol Espargaro, used to the RC16, is still out of reach, Hafizh Syahrin, his teammate at Tech3, is put in a cut while the Mattighofen official Johann zarco is in his sights. These two men are getting off a Yamaha. Exactly…

In the past, getting on a Ducati required either starting from scratch or reviewing your riding software. Extremes which are apparently the current prerogative of a KTM. The RC16 beast is not easy and cannot be approached by just anyone, unless they are a novice.

So, unlike the experienced factory riders and his teammate Hafiz Syahrin, Miguel Oliveira seems to have a decisive advantage: while the other riders learned their lessons on a Yamaha, Olive tree has never known anything other than KTM. “ I think it’s an advantage,” admits the Portuguese. “However, when I signed my contract, I knew it was a new project, so I didn't expect to have a good bike."

With the right mental attitude, good results will come. “ Sometimes I get a little impatient, but you have to stay calm and understand that KTM wants to win. And not finish second. It's a matter of time, the results will come », he believes in the Austrian project. “ The bike will improve and it will be possible to fight for podiums  » finishes the Moto2 world vice-champion on motorsport total.
