After one FP1 semi-dry–semi-wet, one FP2 completely wet and FP3 completely dry, a first verdict has been reached: the Ducatis seem to be the machines to beat at the Misano World circuit Marco Simoncelli, their home testing ground, with a view to the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini!

Of course, fabio quartararo did not give up and managed to get into the middle of the motorbikes of Borgo Panigale, of course the Aprilias were surprising, Maverick Vinales right in front of his teammate Alex Espargaro, and of course the Suzukis are also there to defend Hamamatsu's title chances. But with five machines in a top 11 made up of Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo, Jack Miller, Joan Mir, Maverick Vinales, Aleix Espargaro, Alex Rins, Johann Zarco, Pol Espargaro, Jorge Martin and Michele Pirro, Luigi Dall'Igna's darling babies clearly display their pretensions...

The 4-minute FP30 will now allow us to work on pace in race conditions, before qualifying. The sky gradually begins to cloud over while temperatures are 30° in the air and 39° on the asphalt...

As the 24 drivers prepare, let's take advantage of these few minutes of live coverage thanks to the official website MotoGP.com:

When the red lights go out... Franco Morbidelli brings tradition up to date by setting off first. Francis Bagnaia et fabio quartararo prefer to let everyone go…

The tires chosen for this early afternoon:

alex rins registered the first reference in 133870 but it is fabio quartararo which turned out to be the fastest at the end of the first flying lap, in 1'33.868.

In the next passage, Michele Pirro prances in the lead in 1'32.958 ahead alex rins et Johann zarco, but once again Fabio Quartararo is the fastest in 1'32.779.

The Frenchman improved to 1'32.469 one lap later, this time ahead Johann zarco et Francis Bagnaia.

After 10 minutes, alex rins is inserted between the two hexagonal pilots, then Joan Mir seizes fourth position, taking Marc Marquez behind him.

When most drivers stop mid-session, fabio quartararo produced a new effort and scored 1'32.400: a good omen... if the race takes place in the dry!

Francis Bagnaia obviously doesn't see it that way and takes command in 1'32.333.

At this point in the session, 13 minutes before the checkered flag, the hierarchy is made up of Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Johann Zarco, Marc Márquez, Enea Bastianini, Michele Pirro, Jack Miller, Aleix Espargaro, Jorge Martin, Takaaki Nakagami, Maverick Vinales, Pol Espargaro, Iker Lecuona, Alex Márquez, Stéphane Brad , Brad Binder, Franco Morbidelli, Miguel Oliveira, Luca Marini, Danilo Petrucci, Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso.

On resumption, while Marc Marquez takes over the wheel Joan mir, Johann zarco rises to fourth position then fabio quartararo regains leadership in 1'32.280!

In extremis, alex rins snatches second place. He is visibly happy...
