This Thursday, October 21, 2021, Brad Binder answered questions from journalists from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, as a prelude to the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the South African driver, currently sixth in the championship.

As usual, we report here the words of Brad Binder without the slightest formatting.

Brad, how are you feeling heading into this second race weekend at Misano this season?

" We So we're back here in Misano for the second time this season. We did some good private testing here after the first Grand Prix, and we found some new things that gave us a much better feeling than in the race. So I'm looking forward to starting the weekend here, it promises to be exciting. »

" I have was a little lost the last time I raced here, and so I really want to raise my game. My goal is to be in the top 5 after qualifying in Q2, and to find that rhythm that I 'failed last month. I've worked a lot since then to understand how to achieve such a result, so we'll see how it all comes together. »

We have just learned that your brother Darryn will be moving to MotoGP next season, making the big jump from Moto3 to MotoGP. This promises to be a serious challenge for him, because only Jack Miller has done this in the past, and it was very difficult for the latter. Do you think it will be the same for your brother, and that you will be able to help him adapt to his new category?

" It is a very serious step for him. Going from a bike with 60 hp to one with around 300 hp is huge, not to mention the addition of electronics, radically different brake designs, and everything else. It's quite a challenge. He's going to have to learn a lot, but I'm sure he'll do a good job, but it's clear that it promises to take some time for him to understand how everything works. »

“My brother Darryn’s move straight from Moto3 to MotoGP? A hell of a challenge”

Did you take advantage of these three weeks of break to talk, you and Miguel Oliveira, with the team about possible improvements on the bike, both aerodynamically and in terms of the engine?

" I I think that these few weeks that the guys had at their disposal allowed them to work well in the factory, and to clearly determine what we need, and what we need to work on. Dani Pedrosa was even able to ride in Jerez, and we are aware that so far this season we have encountered a lot more difficulties than we expected, because we wanted to be much closer to the front this year. »

" The These guys are working hard, and I have no doubt that they will get us through this. I am convinced that there are only certain key points where we must progress to significantly improve our times as well as our sensations. We'll see, this weekend we're already going to play with the settings, and I'm going to delve into the data to fully understand what we need. »
