This Thursday, October 21, 2021, Enea Bastianini answered questions from journalists from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, as a prelude to the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna.
We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Italian driver, who has had a string of good performances in the last few events, including a sixth place obtained in Aragon in mid-September, as well as during the last round which took place took place in Austin, after a big comeback from 16th place on the starting grid. This weekend, the Italian also returns to the scene of his first podium in MotoGP, acquired there too after having released the big attack during the first Grand Prix contested on the Adriatic coast in mid-September.

Enea, you finished on the podium in the first race here in Misano last month, and followed it up with another stellar performance in Austin, where you made a tremendous comeback from 16th place on the grid up to sixth place in the race. " I I am indeed very happy with my last races. In Austin we had a very good race, but it was very difficult due to the conditions which were very hot and did not make it easy to finish the event. But I'm very happy with the work we did with the guys in the garage. »
" We We must continue on this path because it is important. Concerning this second race at Misano, I am very confident because it is really a track that I like. But here again the conditions should play a big role because it is much cooler than a month ago. But I'm just going to try to be as fast this weekend as in the first Grand Prix here. »

Last month you qualified in 12th place on the grid before once again beginning a formidable comeback to put pressure on the leaders at the end of the race. Do you think, especially with a better qualification, that you can repeat this type of performance?
" The Qualifications are definitely something I need to work on. It's always a disaster for me, but here in Misano last month I managed to do one of my best Saturday sessions this season. But it is clear that I will have to try to do even better this weekend to be able to aim for an even better result in the race. »

What do you think of Ducati's commitment to MotoE? Would you be willing to ride an electric motorcycle provided by the brand next year?
" For It’s a surprise for me, and I don’t know if it’s really possible to build a “Desmo-electric” motorcycle [laughs]! But I'm sure Ducati can create a very powerful bike, and I would indeed like to test this bike! »
