It’s a Andrea Dovizioso who finished ranked 12th at the end of this first day of free sessions at the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna and the Rimini Riviera. Positioned more than half a second from the head of the troops, the Ducati rider says he is calm, confident for the rest of the celebrations to come.

Andrea Dovizioso is working in the shadows and is already preparing for Sunday's race. This day where he was positioned 7th at the end of FP1 and 12th in the combined ranking in FP2, allowed him to test several things on the Desmosedics including medium tires.
« All the work we wanted to do in the afternoon was done. We are mainly focused on using the medium tire, this is the only time when this can be done, because in the morning they wear out too quickly, it was the ideal time to do it and test them" Explain Dovi.

He pursues: "Sunday will be a very close race because in my opinion the KTMs have found solutions because they were fast today. Many of us will want to claim victory. For tomorrow, we will already see what the weather conditions will be, but if the track is fast, a 31,7 may not be enough to stay in the top ten. In my opinion everything is still open, I'm not too badly placed but everyone is progressing too and the smallest detail will make the difference. The goal for me is to start at least from the first or second row and to be at least in the top 10. Starting from the front is very important. I am aware that it will be difficult, everything must be perfect and that is why it is complicated” confides the leader of the world championship.

" I still have a little leeway to force, however, I am confident that I still have every chance. The pace wasn't bad, between the fastest lap of the session and my last lap, there was only a three-tenths difference. The problem is that Morbidely who was in the same situation as me did a lap 6 tenths faster, I don't know if we'll be able to recover but a little something, we'll see. We'll see what comes out of all this but I remain optimistic” concludes the Italian driver.
