Fabio Quartararo said what he thought of his Yamaha in dry track conditions, with such frankness that it somehow took the pressure off him for a match point this Sunday at Misano. Because that's not how he will be able to play it. To tell the truth, it is obvious, looking at the time sheet, that the day was a clear defeat for the Japanese against the Europeans. Something to think about...
This first day of the second Grand Prix at Misano delivered an overall verdict which is enough to make the Japanese involved in MotoGP uncomfortable. The honor of the Empire of the Rising Sun is thus barely saved by Joan mir who put his Suzuki in eleventh place. But for the rest of the Japanese industry, it's a disaster. It seemed to dissolve on the wet track of Misano. The other GSX-RR is fifteenth. At Honda, Alex Marquez (13º +1,574), was the best member of the brand with the golden wing despite the fall he suffered in FP1, finishing just ahead of his brother Marc (14th +1.578). Pol Espargaro, 19th (+2.165), was the victim of a high-speed fall during FP2, an incident from which he emerged unscathed. Nakagami is penultimate.
Situation at Iwata factory in wet conditions even more worrying: MotoGP leader Fabio Quartararo was the most notable among the Yamaha squad with a 16th position (+1), while Franco Morbidelli was 20th, Valentino Rossi 22th and Andrea Dovizioso 24th and last ranked. All this is far from the leader Jack Miller.

Fabio Quartararo: “ I have to stay calm«
Gaps that worry. fabio quartararo declared: “ we found something in the wet, I was 7th and 8th in FP1, but when it dried a little, I've never driven something like that. The bike was a disaster in these conditions. The Ducatis, with their power and grip, are further away, but I would like to be at least a little closer. It's not a problem with the tire temperature, I can't go home quickly when it dries out a bit. I would like to have at least the same conditions as wet ».
He adds : " I'm worried. Not for Sunday's match, I'm not thinking about match ball. But if we have three or four wet races in the future nothing can be done. We'll see where we are after qualifying and we'll definitely have the pace in the dry ". He finishes: “I have to be calm and not think too much about this match point. Today, I am more focused on learning in these conditions for next year.”
It should be noted that the weather forecast for Saturday is not very favorable, with a forecast of rain which exceeds the 70 % until 15:00 p.m. This will undoubtedly be a problem for Yamaha and his compatriots...
