Aleix Espargaró

Aleix Espargaró did not take care of his relationships after this last Grand Prix in Misano from which he still took home the points for seventh place. However, his teammate Maverick Viñales, who is new to RS-GP, finished on his heels, which the start of the race did not suggest since the 32-year-old driver seemed able to hold the top 5 at the start of the event. Then his rear tire acted up. He has since gone to ask for explanations from Michelin to whom he owes, he thinks, this race which he evaluated with strong words which he accepts...

Aleix Espargaró qualified eleventh for this second visit to Misano which was three places worse than the premiere in mid-September. Then he placed seventh in the race, one place better than during the last performance. All in all, with theAprilia RS-GP, the Spaniard has been regular on the shores of the Adriatic. But his assessment is different. And he says: “ we had a problem with the rear tire. Now we have to understand with Michelin what happened. It had no traction from the start. I started very aggressive, I moved up a lot of positions on the first lap, but then I never had the pace. I was going very slowly, I couldn't go fast, it seemed like I was going to fall on every curve when entering and accelerating. It had no traction at all. I was content to limit the damage and not make any mistakes ».

Happiness for Aleix Espargaró is above all for Pol

He pursues : " the truth is that I am satisfied, because with a race like this, which was, to speak cash, shit, with a very slow pace, getting the points that I got, it's good... For the championship it's important if we want to fight for this top 8 in the general classification ».

But what made him especially happy was the podium taken by his younger brother Pol on the Honda : " I'm very happy for him, because it cost him dearly. I know how much enthusiasm, how much effort he put into it. Not last year when he signed with Honda, if not much earlier. The road is therefore more difficult than he thought and that he reached this podium, I am very happy for him. A burden will have been lifted and that makes me happy ».

For the Portimao and Valencia races, the eighth in the World Championship has one objective: “ we are not far from the first seven in the general classification and will give everything until the last race ". He counts 23 points behind its KTM rival, Brad Binder. By the way, for the wildcard driver Lorenzo Savadori, the weekend ended on Saturday. The Italian crashed during FP3 and broke his right collarbone. He was successfully operated on by Professor Porcellini and Doctor Catani on Saturday evening in Modena. Savadori's goal is to be back for the offseason testing in Jerez.

Lorenzo Savadori has since undergone successful surgery following his accident
