MotoGP Misano 2 J3, Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati/4): "I thought they were going to destroy me during the race"

In difficulty this season, Marco Bezzecchi performed very well in this Misano 2 Grand Prix. At the start, he was the only one equipped with a soft rear tire, while his competitors had preferred the medium. The Italian, who is playing at home, was the author of a rather calm, intelligent race, which earned him the precious points of fourth place. It is still not a result worthy of his monstrous 2023 season, certainly, but the "Bez" has been constantly improving for a few races. He will be one to watch during the Asian tour.

Marco Bezzecchi had reason to be jubilant at the finish of this race. Although he was unable to catch the contenders for victory, his strategy paid off, in a sense. « I already tried this during the warm-up this morning.. I was 16th. At that point, I thought they were all going to destroy me during the race with the mediums. But I had used tires, and they had new ones. I had also tried the medium rubber but it didn't convince me. It was amazing; for me it was the right choice » he specified to the microphones of speedweek.

 

 

This fourth place, helped by the fall of his colleague Pecco Bagnaia in front of him, is very satisfactory. « We are progressing little by little. I had a good start at first, but I couldn't contain Marc Marquez. It wasn't so bad because I was able to follow him. I felt good in the first third of the race, I had a regular pace » he said. This approach turned out to be the right one.

 

 

In just a week, we will be racing in Indonesia. The first of a series of five races on the Asian continent, which delights Marco Bezzecchi. « I love all the tracks there. Indonesia is great, Japan is fantastic. I'm looking forward to this part of the season. The goal is always to improve, There is not much missing to get on the podium. In any case, I will not give up anything » he concluded.
