Misano

The first free practice session of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix offered a great spectacle at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, marking the 14th round of the 2024 MotoGP. Despite a wet start to the session, conditions improved, allowing all riders to use slick tyres and exploit the track to its full potential.

Marc Marquez, in top form after his victory at the San Marino Grand Prix two weeks ago, dominated the session. The team driver Gresini Racing achieved a time of 1'32.082, narrowly beating George Martin, which follows it by just 0,063 seconds. Franco Morbidelli, the teammate of Martin, completes the leading trio with a delay of 0,186 seconds.

Pecco Bagnaia, a two-time MotoGP world champion, took fourth place, 0,291 seconds behind Marquez. Maverick Vinales, on his Aprilia, ranks fifth, just ahead Alex Marquez, Marc's younger brother, who finished sixth with the second GP23 Ducati Gresini.

The KTM rookie Peter Acosta continues to impress by setting the seventh time with his RC16 from Team GASGAS. He is ahead of Brad Binder (KTM Factory), fabio quartararo, with the only one Yamaha in the top 10, and Jack Miller, also on KTM.

Ducati pays tribute to Luca Salvadori at Misano

Enea Bastianini, at the wheel of the Ducati Factory, had to settle for 12th place, followed by the Aprilia byAleix Espargaró et Raul fernandez. Fabio di Giannantonio, on the VR23 Racing Team Ducati GP46, finished 16th, ahead of the best of the Honda, driven by Luca marini. Johann Zarco, Takaaki Nakagami et Joan mir follow closely, in 17th, 18th and 19th positions respectively.

Note the poor performance of Marco Bezzecchi, who finished only 21st. Ducati took advantage of this session to pay tribute to Luca Salvadori, tragically died in an accident during the International Road Racing Championship (IRRC).
