Pecco Bagnaia took pole for the second round at Misano, while Martin and Bastianini complete the front row of the grid. The Italian driver broke the track record again to claim another pole position, stopping the clock at 1'30.031. Jorge Martin also broke yesterday's record, but he is still two tenths behind his biggest rival for the title. It will be a sprint fight, with Bastianini as the arbiter of choice. Here are the statements from the leading trio.
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati/1) : “ On Friday it was clear to me that a time of 1'29" could be difficult because of the temperature. And that's more or less how it is.. In the left turns it was difficult to attack as I wanted but I am very happy because being on pole is the most important thing to fight for the victory today. ».
George Martin (Pramac-Ducati/2nd) : “ I am in good shape. After the test, my main goal was to improve in the timed lap. And I did, which makes me happy.. Regarding the rhythm Pecco is worried, but I'm close. So it's definitely going to be a tough race, but I'll do my best to get on the podium. ».
Enea Bastianini (Ducati/3rd) : « It was very important today to arrive on the front line. This morning my feelings weren't really good, but we came back to yesterday's bike and it was better in the end. On the last lap I saw I was only tenth and I gave it my all. Third place is very good. Now we can give our all in the sprint and in the race tomorrow. ».
The second line is made up of the two KTM riders Tie upr and Acosta followed by Bezzecchi. Marc Marquez is seventh after a fall, fabio quartararo ninth.
