Alex Rins had a difficult first day at Misano. Like his other Yamaha colleagues, the Spaniard found himself struggling in the time trial, unable to find speed on a flying lap. Rins, extremely discreet since the beginning of the year, is struggling to keep up with his teammate Fabio Quartararo. Let's hope the arrival of the V1-powered YZR-M4 gives him some comfort, because it must be said that Augusto Fernandez was quite fast on it.
Alex Rins, while lamenting the fact that he had to go through to Q1, took the positives from the day, especially when he compared it to last Friday. “It was a better Friday than the previous one, but we were missing one or two tenths on the attack phase, and we could have done it if it wasn't for the yellow flags. This soft tire is quite surprising, quite unstable. We often lost the rear, especially in turns 3 and 8.There is room for improvement. It wasn't the best day for us, all the M1s are in Q1." he declared to our microphones.

Like all the other Yamaha riders – and probably on the grid – he took a look at the data collected by Augusto Fernandez during the day, because it could be Yamaha's future that is being played out before his eyes. « Augusto was impressive, he was very fastI looked at the data a bit, and in Turn 11, he loses three tenths. I don't want to say that he doesn't have enough balls to go through Turn 11 stronger, but it depends on the line. For such a recent motorcycle, that's strong" he concluded.
