Jack Miller

Often relegated to the wrong side of the top 10 on Fridays during MotoGP weekends, Jack Miller managed to narrowly squeeze into the top 10 at Misano, securing a direct passage into Q2. The Australian claimed the coveted tenth place, just 0,1 seconds ahead of Red Bull KTM team-mate Brad Binder, largely thanks to a strategic tow behind Francesco Bagnaia.

Miller, visibly relieved, shared: “ I'm quite happy with the day, I barely escaped, and that's how it goes sometimes. I've been outside more often than ever lately, so it's nice to be on the other side of the fence. Sorry about my buddy Binder but he won't have any problems tomorrow »

Asked about his clever use of the tow behind the defending champion bagnaia, Miller smiled and joked: “ I had to risk my life and limb to get there! I apologized to Johann Zarco upon arrival, because I hit him in a dive at turn 14 coming out of the tour because I knew that I wanted to hold on to Pecco »

Miller added, with humor, " it was good, I was able to see it during the first sector, so that was already something! And then he left. So we still have some work to do. But I'm still happy to be in Q2. »

Jack Miller will now hope to capitalise on this performance to concentrate fully on Saturday's free practice and improve his pace ahead of the race. This takes a decent weight off our shoulders for tomorrow morning. and we can focus on EL3 for working on the rhythm and trying to understand what we need for the race. The bike is working well and the track is in good condition. So we are working hard to be competitive tomorrow and Sunday. »

Meanwhile, the beginner Peter Acosta impressed by placing sixth, thus establishing himself as the best driver KTM of the day.
