This Saturday September 18, 2021, Alex Rins answered questions from journalists from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, at the end of the second day of the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Spanish driver, who set the ninth fastest time in qualifying.

As usual, we report here the words of Alex Rins without the slightest formatting.

Álex, what are your feelings after this day of qualifying in Misano?

"This was a good day, as we are back on the third row of the grid. It's still better than starting from 20th place [his position on the grid last week in Aragón]… Everything went well: We were able to qualify directly in Q2, and during FP4 we was able to testify to a very good pace. »

"This What's a shame, however, is that with tires providing more grip, I was only able to go two tenths per lap faster. We have to continue working, because we are still far from pole position, but tomorrow if the weather conditions are good I think we can have a good race. »

In Aragón you had to make a big comeback from the back of the grid, and consequently hit your tires. Do you think you can do even better tomorrow, knowing that Misano has better places to overtake?

" Yes and no. It's true that there are more places to overtake, but they are also places that are riskier. For example in turns 1 and 4 if you attack, it is easy to go wide or block the front. You can then waste a lot of time, and you have to be careful about this. The profile of our race will depend on our start, our first laps. »

We saw a lot of accidents today. Do you have an explanation for this?

" I think it's weather related. We will therefore have to be careful of this during the race, because everyone will be on edge. »

The weather still seems uncertain for tomorrow. In what conditions would you prefer to run?

" I always prefers dry races, because you enjoy the race much more. Events in the rain generally turn into a lottery. »
