This Saturday September 18, 2021, Jack Miller answered questions from journalists from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, at the end of the second day of the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Australian rider, who secured the double in qualifying for Ducati by setting the second best time.

As usual, we report here the words of Jack Miller without the slightest formatting.

Jack, you are in an ideal situation to try to get back on the podium. Beyond your second place in qualifying, you seem at ease both in the dry and in the wet…

" I I actually feel good in these two types of conditions, and I must say that this gives me confidence for tomorrow. However, I don't think I've covered enough laps in the wet to be sure I understand how the tires work and can say what the best combination is. »

" Some guys were really solid with the medium tire this afternoon, while we preferred to use the worn soft tire. We need to study this in more detail. That said, I don't have an excellent track record on this circuit, so I hope to break this bad streak tomorrow. »

“I feel good both in the dry and in the wet”

Are you confident that you have eradicated the problems you encountered in Aragón?

" It is a very specific problem that affected us there, it should not happen again this time. »

There were a lot of mosquitoes on the circuit today. You even got one in the eye. Did this bother you?

“I I got one in the eye, that's a fact... And it bothered me for a few laps. They were in clusters and located in certain places on the circuit. Even on my best lap I had one go through my helmet. »

You completed most of FP4 with the soft tire at the rear. Are you going to keep this choice during the race if it is contested in the dry?

" I have used the medium during part of FP1, and it wasn't too bad, it provided a fairly consistent level of performance, as consistent as it can be in any case knowing that the temperatures were cold and the track was not yet erased. »

"But Today our plan was to use the soft tire from FP3, simply to gather information knowing that it was the tire we used last year. We wanted to know what its level of wear was, and where it was located. We've gathered all this information, and now we have to look at it in detail and make a decision from there. »

Tomorrow, will we see a “Jack Miller” race or a real team race?

" I always do “Jack Miller” races… We’ll see how the event goes. Pecco should have better pace, at least on paper. He's probably one of the strongest on the track. I think it's too early to ask these types of questions. We really need to see how the event is going to go, where we are, what the conditions are and how the bike is includes. »

There were a lot of accidents today, in all categories. Do you have an explanation for this?

" We indeed saw two red flags in Moto3 this morning, as well as quite a few accidents, particularly in qualifying. Subsequently it was the same thing both in Moto2 and in MotoGP. This happens sometimes, like this weekend where the rain reduced our driving time in the dry, even though we still have to attack no matter what. »
