Hervé Poncharal

Hervé Poncharal's Tech3 team brought back points from this last San Marino Grand Prix in Misano thanks to its driver Raul Fernandez. The Spaniard was assisted for the occasion in the box by Guy Coulon, who brought a certain emotion to his performance in the team. His neighbor Remy Gardner, who is in the delicate situation we know about his future, has not had the same success. His valor in the circumstances was undermined by a “long lap” penalty for having abused the limits of the track too much. He also had a problem with compartment syndrome…

Taking stock of the fourteenth round of the season for his troops, Hervé Poncharal remained on the good feeling of the two points brought back by his pilot Raul fernandez : " what an exciting MotoGP race we have just experienced here in Misano. We struggled yesterday during the qualifying session due to the weather conditions which caused us to start at the back of the grid. But we were convinced that we had the potential to have a good race. At the Warm Up this morning, Raul Fernandez and Remy Gardner were both in good shape ».

The Frenchman adds: “ They didn't have an easy start but they managed to avoid problems and began to gain positions. Additionally, they both made interesting times and got closer to the best pilots ».

Hervé Poncharal: “ we learned a lot as a team »

He details: “ Raul had a strong pace throughout the race, between 1'33.1 and 1'33.3, behind Andrea Dovizioso, a big reference here at Misano World Circuit, so that's very positive. Finishing thirteenth is a very good result for us and it rewards the weekend we had. I would like to thank Raul for his excellent attitude throughout the weekend. With the exception of QP1 which was a failure, I'd say it's the best weekend we've had with him so far ».

« Remy Gardner was strong too and close to his teammate. Unfortunately, he suffered from compartment syndrome in the latter part of the race and had difficulty managing his bike. He received a penalty for a long lap and lost positions, which is a shame because getting into the points was possible for him » Hervé Poncharal finished : " thanks to both drivers, we learned a lot as a team this weekend, and it will be interesting to see what they can do in the next race in Aragon ". A deadline listed on the calendar from September 18 to 20.
