Zarco Misano

It was an extremely short day for Johann Zarco at Misano. While he's been seriously lacking in sensation for a while now, he was hoping to bounce back this Sunday at the Grand Prix, even if it looked complicated. Unfortunately, his race (at least with the others) ended on the first lap, after the first few corners: Joan Mir, his colleague from the factory team, took him out in his crash. Obviously, that doesn't help build good momentum.

Johann Zarco recounts the events of his shortened ordeal: « Mir fell, I was outsideMy start wasn't great, and the fact that Mir was there, unlike yesterday, changed things. But I didn't do too badly. I hesitated to go to the inside of turn 4, and then Mir arrived, and I fell. I hurt my hand a little, I rode afterward with adrenaline. Also, I tried to free him from his motorcycle, but I burned myself on his exhaust pipe." he said to our microphones.

He still got back on the bike, but was unable to get into the points. "I did my laps, and I was gaining places thanks to the crashes in front. We saw that the fast corners, without the aerodynamics I had lost, are much more complicated. It would have been nice to have a point, but I would have especially liked Mir to take an extra day of rest. » he continued.

Monday will be dedicated to testing, and this time, Zarco will benefit from the best parts created by HRC. “Tomorrow, there will be a lot of work to dismantle some of Team HRC’s bikes so I can try all the new packages. Normally I should have new parts in Motegi. This weekend, I tried to distance myself from that a little, because in Hungary, it got to me, and it affected my performance. It's hard to find the right balance to ride hard at the moment. Let's see if these new parts give me speed at Misano." he added.

He hopes to revive a positive dynamic on the other side of the river. « I hope to perform well in Motegi and on the overseas tour, it's very hard on morale. You have to regenerate as best you can, I hope the tracks will be more favorable to me, like Catalunya was.. It's a shame I didn't finish this race, it demoralized me." he concluded.
