Pol Espargaró Nicolas Goyon

The team manager of the Tech3 GASGAS team, Nicolas Goyon, is preparing to face a San Marino Grand Prix in Misano which will be the last on the European continent, before sailing towards the unknown land of India and hence the distant overseas lands. The last meeting in Catalonia, which only took place last weekend, ended with new points brought back by the inevitable Augusto Fernandez. However, if you listen to the Frenchman carefully, it would be this time Pol Espargaró's side that we should rather look at for this twelfth round of the season...

Nicolas Goyon begins his presentation thus: “ from the Mediterranean Sea to the Adriatic coast we traveled 1 km for the Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini ". He then recalls the appearance of the route: “ the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli has one of the fastest turns on the calendar, and our strong aerodynamics will play a key role in stabilizing the motorcycle. We therefore expect good results ».

« Augusto Fernandez heads to Misano with a lot of confidence after scoring his fourth Top 10 of the season in Barcelona. He finished on the podium last year in Moto2 here, so it's also a place he really likes, and I think a good qualifying will help him aim for higher positions in the race ».

Nicolas Goyon: “ Pol Espargaró's physical condition is now almost back to normal »

Then he mentions: “ Pol Espargaró will come here with a spirit of revenge. In Barcelona his speed was very competitive, but for different reasons he could not finish both the Sprint and the race. His physical condition is now almost back to normal, he loves this place, so I think he can have a good weekend. As the sun will shine in the sky, I believe we have everything in our hands to shine also in Misano this weekend ».

And what does the person concerned say about it? “I have been fast in the past at Misano, I won in Moto2, I got on the podium in MotoGP, so the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is a place I like to go and ride. Of course, we are still regaining speed, feel and fitness, but I think after three rounds we are already in a much better position than a month ago, so let's see how we feel with the GASGAS RC16 this year. I am impatient ! ».

Augusto Fernandez concludes: “I'm ready for this back-to-back round after a positive weekend in Catalonia. I like the Misano track, I have won there in the past, and last year I was on the podium. I'm excited to get back on the bike, but we have a big goal: to try to improve our Fridays in order to put ourselves in a better position in qualifying. It's not so easy to already perform well on Friday when you're a rookie, but this is our main objective if we want to be able to start the races further forward to finish in the Top 10 more regularly ».
