A few days before the start of the double meeting on the Adriatic coast, we can expect the records at the Misano circuit to be undermined, in all three categories.

Three reasons favor this hypothesis.

The first, and most important, is that the Italian route has seen its completely redone coating since the last edition. This was done not only based on the calculation of engineers from MCI Infrastructures Engineering of Milan, specialized in airport runways, but also on the opinion of pilots.

For this purpose, seven areas each received a coating with different characteristics, before receiving the passage and comments of thirteen local Italian pilots: Michele Pirro, Lorenzo Savadori, Enea Bastianini, Niccolò Bulega, Mattia Pasini, Matteo Ferrari, Massimo Roccoli, Luca Bernardi, Alessandro Del Bianco, Lorenzo Gabellini, Giacomo Mora, Andrea Natali and Luca Vitali.

According to our information, the result today is an extremely adherent coating made up of Sicilian stones and artificial aggregates from steel production, a unique formula which promises us good times...

Second positive factor, the weather ! It is expected to be nice and dry at least until Sunday, which has not always been the case. Without even talking about the flood of 2007, we remember a few editions in recent years which have experienced bad weather, even going so far as to obtain the record for the number of falls in 2017!
All this is in the past and can be forgotten, at least for the Gran Premio Lenovo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

Because the latter will succeed the Grand Prize TISSOT of the Emilia Romagna and the Rimini Riviera, a week later, and, if the weather still permits, this second round will be another opportunity to undermine the times of the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

So far, only Jerez and the Red Bull Ring have had back-to-back Grands Prix.
In Andalusia, the new record went from 1'36.705 (Fabio Quartararo) to 1'36.584 (Maverick Viñales) in one week.
Conversely, in Austria, the record of 1'23.027 still belongs to Marc Márquez since 2019, and the best time of the first week (1'23.450 by Maverick Viñales) was not improved the following week (1' 23.456 Joan Mir in FP3).

As a reminder, Ducati, KTM, Suzuki and Aprilia tested the new surface at the end of June, then Honda, and again KTM and Aprilia at the end of August!

So let’s keep in mind the following references for Misano…

MotoGP: 1'31.629 Jorge Lorenzo 2018
Moto2: 1'36.754 Johann Zarco 2015
Moto3: 1'41.829 Jorge Martin 2018
