Jorge Martin showed his dominant form by setting the fastest time in the first free practice session for the Grand Prix of San Marino e Rimini Riviera at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The world championship leader set a time of 1'31.707 on his Ducati Desmosedici GP24, narrowly beating Marc Marquez, winner of the last Aragon Grand Prix, by just 0.037s.

Marquez, on the handlebars of the Ducati Gresini, seems to be continuing his momentum after his success in Aragon, while Pol Espargaro, a wild-card rider on the KTM RC16, surprised by taking third place with a time of 1'31.920, closely followed by Franco Morbidelli on Ducati Pramac.

fabio quartararo, 2021 MotoGP world champion, put in a strong performance, placing fifth with his Yamaha . Quartararo appears to have benefited from recent testing at Misano, finishing just 0.269s off the fastest time.

Behind Quarterly, we find a competitive peloton of riders with the Aprilia by Aleix Espargaró, the KTM of Brad Binder, and the defending champion Pecco Bagnaia, still in difficulty after his accident in Aragon. Maverick Vinales on Aprilia and the rookie Peter Acosta on the KTM of Team GASGAS complete the top 10.

The fight promises to be intense this weekend at Misano, with minimal gaps between the main contenders. Who will go directly to Q2 of this San Marino Grand Prix ? This will be the whole point of this session. Before we know it, here is the table that summarizes the facts known so far.
