First San Marino MotoGP Grand Prix without Valentino Rossi and in Misano, everything is different since Friday morning. It feels like we're going back to the days of the old Santa Monica circuit, thirty years ago. Due to the uncertain weather of the last few days, there are not many people, but there are the real fans. For the first time in Misano, they only see a few fluorescent yellow flags with the 46. Valentino Rossi races at Hockenheim as part of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe championship. Out of sight out of mind ? Who knows !

Fans Franco Morbidelli are present on the circuit, determined to support their favorite in a difficult period. There are already supporters ofEnea Bastianini, fans of Pecco Bagnaia, fans of Dominique Aegerter who hope to celebrate the Swiss rider's MotoE title and others. They are all, however, extremely calm. There are no scenes of delirium as in the presence of OK.

In Misano today there is sunshine, the weather is almost summery and on the first day there is general serenity. The smell of good food can be felt in the hospitality areas: Some sip a beer sitting on the team terraces and others take a walk. Even MotoGP champions can move around the paddock without being disturbed. Everything is unusually calm, it almost doesn't feel like we're in Misano for the MotoGP.

The teams have a lot of guests and many of them have come to the circuit with their families. In the paddock, there are children in ecstasy, their eyes shining at the hospitality and the motorcycles.

In the afternoon, the usual press conferences take place. At the house of Enea Bastianini, there is an incursion of YouTubers “theShow” who pose Bestia crazy questions on the theme of cooking, to general amazement and hilarity. These episodes bring a breath of fresh air and a lace of lightness to the whole atmosphere.

The slogan of the Grand Prix of the Riviera of San Marino and Rimini is “Race Evolution” and on the first day it really feels like the first day of a new era.
