The Suzuki rider didn't make any sparks on this first day at Misano but is confident for the rest of the weekend.

Joan mir showed up on the Misano circuit more motivated than ever after a double meeting in Austria that was more than positive for him. He indeed scored the first podium of his career in MotoGP before finishing in fourth position, his second best result.

For the moment he has been rather discreet, more busy working on his racing pace and his settings than on his speed over a lap. He showed himself a little this morning in FP1 by taking third time in the last quarter of an hour before finishing sixth, then this afternoon, he completed a long run of 20 laps and took 15th place.

His position in the general classification of combined times does not worry him too much, and given his results in previous years this seems logical since the Spanish driver has always played placed on the San Marino track, with an eighth place for his first year in MotoGP last year, as well as a top 5 and two podiums in the other categories.

He is therefore confident of securing his automatic place in Q2 at the end of FP3: “At the moment we haven't shown a single lap that would allow us to be at the front but to be honest my pace on worn tires is actually quite good. I feel comfortable and I have a good feeling. »

“I got burned when I tried to do a fast lap at the end of the session and had to use my motocross skills in the gravel! But we are ready for FP3 tomorrow morning and I am convinced that I can be strong. »
