The Suzuki rider once again missed the podium, this time due to his shoulder injury, and hopes to be able to do better next weekend, during the second Grand Prix in Misano.

The season ofAlex Rins is definitely not following the same dynamic as last year since he does not yet have a single victory nor a single podium, when his teammate Joan Mir has just won her second podium of the year and of her career, and the race today continued in this direction.

However, in a good rhythm at the start of the race with a correct start, the Spaniard raised his voice mid-race and fell on Valentino Rossi, then third, before stumbling on him until a few laps from the end. And then, suddenly, Rins completely gave up, was overtaken by Mir and found himself fifth, much further back than the others.

This first Misano Grand Prix therefore ended a little bitterly for the Suzuki rider, even if the final result remained satisfactory. Fighting for the podium during a large part of the race, he was simply the victim of his physical problems when he could have claimed third place.

“Today’s race was hard for me”, he explained. “At the start of the race and until the halfway point I felt confident, I had a good rhythm and a good feeling with the bike. When I saw the podium getting closer I really pushed a lot and I started to have strength problems in my right arm because of my shoulder injury. It was very hard to continue fighting. In the end, with a few laps to go, I just tried to go to the end and get a good result. I'm happy with fifth place because it's points but it's obvious that I'm going to hope for better at the next [Grand Prix]. »
