Brad Binder experienced the opposite fate of the Yamaha riders in Misano. The latter, in fact, had experienced difficulties in Brno and hell on the Red Bull Ring before recovering on the banks of the Adriatic. The South African won in the Czech Republic and did well in Austria. But he won’t have a great memory of the San Marino Grand Prix…

Brad Binder marked time in its championship at Misano, riding his KTM. Which still remains relative, because this is his first campaign at this level while the 2019 Moto2 world vice-champion is already a Grand Prix winner. But all the same, the Red Bull-KTM rider regrets having suffered so much to settle for 12th place under the checkered flag, twelve seconds behind the winner Franco Morbidelli on the handlebars of the Yamaha petronas.

« It was one of the tough races, I got a bad start "Says Binder. " After this start, I had to try to find my way through the peloton. It was harder to pass than expected. It was difficult to pull off the maneuvers. Overall it was a tough weekend. With a better start I might have been able to go a little further, but I wouldn't have been much faster ».

“I’m looking forward to Misano2”

« When I was ahead of Pol Espargaró and Miguel Oliveira, my front wheel briefly locked up approaching turn 12. Then I hit the white line at the edge of the track and it's like ice here. Then I got off the track. I lost a second or 1,5 seconds on that lap. Then I wanted to catch up with them, but I couldn't. Besides this mistake, I really did my best ».

He finishes : " fortunately we now have the test on Tuesday. I want to improve and have a better race next Sunday. You need to have more speed in the corners. You need a little more fluidity to ride here. You have to release the brakes earlier, then exit the curve again to accelerate early. I brake relatively hard. I'm looking forward to a slightly stronger weekend at Misano2 ».

With this service, Brad Binder went from fourth to ninth place in a championship which remains very close.
