Pol Espargaró said out loud what many are thinking: Valentino Rossi brought a lot of good to motorcycling in general, but he also drained the worst from the Grand Prix stands in particular. Real hooligans whose longevity of existence linked to the silence on the subject of the one whose name we express thus in his name raise questions. With the confinement, the pandemic and the closed doors, we had forgotten them. But this black part of the yellow planet was reminded of everyone's bad memories via social networks, by lashing out on the Instagram of Joan Mir who had only done her job in Misano...

By masterfully surpassing Valentino Rossi in the last kilometers of the San Marino Grand Prix, the official Suzuki offered himself a nice third step on a podium which was thus blown away from the Doctor. It would have been his 200rd and he would have celebrated it with his students Morbidely, winner, and bagnaia, second.

But for some brainless people, this beautiful pass of arms was rather a crime of lèse-majesté. And they made it known on the Instagram profile of the talented Spanish pilot. A very sad moment which poses a question to which Valentino Rossi has never provided a clear answer regarding this type of individual who still displays its colors.

Mir is the future

It will be remembered that at the end of the race, Joan Mir had nevertheless been more than deferential towards a Red who still remains an opponent to beat like the others: “ I'm sorry to have taken the podium away from him, because he really had a great weekend. But that's how MotoGP racing is, at this point, he was just an object in front of me. I gave everything, I felt good, it was my day, the feeling with the bike increased during the race, I was strong in braking, I saw the opportunity to get on the podium and I didn't I didn't let it slip away. I will never forget this overtaking ».

His boss at Suzuki Davide Brivio, and who knows the “Rossisphère” well, took to its defense: “ on the track he was focused on the goal of the podium, he only saw that… But I don't think he was really sorry. Mir is part of this generation of young drivers on whom I will bet for a leading role in the future. We work to make it grow ". No offense to the fact that we hope to still be a minority.
