This Saturday, the town of Cervera will celebrate two local children with dignity, Marc Márquez et álex Márquez, freshly crowned with their respective world titles, one in MotoGP and the other in Moto2.
However, the celebrations began a month ago with the coronation of the eldest of the Márquez brothers, Marc, in the premier category, during the Thai Grand Prix, last October 2. Everyone was therefore waiting to see the little brother, Álex, do the same in the MotoXNUMX category. So it’s been done since the Grand Prix in Malaysia last weekend.
The celebrations will take over, this Saturday, November 09, the town of Cervera to honor its champions. At 17:00 p.m., the festivities will begin with a joint press conference by the two Márquez brothers, in the University of Cervera building. From 19 p.m., a large parade will take place throughout the city which will take the two heroes of the country to a stage set up on “Paça Pius XII”. And they will be well surrounded on the occasion of this special day: In addition to the family, all the members of their teams, Repsol Honda et Estrella Galicia 0,0-Marc VDS will accompany them to experience this unique moment.
Their first joint celebration took place in 2012, when Marc won his Moto2 title, he took the opportunity to celebrate the event with Álex who had just joined Moto3. The second celebration took place in 2014, Marc Marquez celebrating his 2nd MotoGP title, the little brother, celebrating his Moto3 title at the time.
Seven years later and seven MotoGP titles later for one, and two titles in Moto3 and Moto2 for the other, the win-win duo of the Márquez brothers will therefore be reunited to celebrate their respective world crowns at the height of their talent respective.
