Mugello Grand Prix

Did you miss the Italian Grand Prix? Or simply want to relive the highlights? You've come to the right place! Here's a video recap of what you absolutely shouldn't miss this Sunday at the Mugello circuit.

As a reminder, the starting grid for the race was made up of Marc Márquez (Ducati), who won the sprint race on Saturday, then Francis Bagnaia (Ducati) andAlex Marquez (Ducati). Behind followed fabio quartararo (yamaha), Maverick Vinales (KTM) and Franco Morbidelli (Dozens). Fabio Di Giannantonio (Dozens), Peter Acosta (KTM) and Alex Rins (Yamaha) made up the third line. Johann zarco (Honda) was 14th.

The Márquez/Bagnaia battle is launched

When the lights go out, Marc Márquez retained the advantage at the end of the straight, despite the pressure of Francis Bagnaia. Alex Marquez remained in third place, while Franco Morbidelli came to slip between the Spaniard and fabio quartararo.

The battle between the two official Ducati riders began from the second corner, with bagnaia who took advantage of Márquez. He waited until the start of the second lap to overtake him again, while at the same time, Enea Bastianini has made a mistake.

In the same place, on the next turn, bagnaia took advantage of the slipstream to take the lead, but struggled to turn into the first corner, leaving an opportunity for the #93 to overtake him. The two men again alternated overtaking, before bagnaia does not touch the rear wheel of his teammate and drops back to third place, while remaining on his wheels.

At the start of the fourth lap, the scenario repeated itself: the Italian driver overtook Alex Marquez at the end of the straight line, before going to look for Marc Marquez in the second turn. On the next lap, bagnaia got a scare, which opened a door to number #93. A few loops later, Alex Marquez tried his luck in turn by overtaking both drivers at once, but was unable to turn and slipped between them. He ended up overtaking bagnaia, which was then passed through Marc Márquez in the next round.

Morbidelli's mistake

The championship leader then went in pursuit of his brother, whom he overtook on the ninth lap. From then on, their position remained unchanged. Behind, Franco Morbidelli et Maverick Vinales There was a fierce battle for fourth place, which unfortunately ended badly for the Spaniard. He crashed after being hit by the VR46 rider, who was penalized for a long, poorly executed lap, which earned him a second place.

While the top 3 seemed to be decided, Fabio Di Giannantonio, fourth from the halfway point, came back on Francis Bagnaia in the final laps and managed to overtake him to secure a podium at home behind the brothers Márquez. Francis Bagnaia had to settle for fourth position, ahead of Marco Bezzecchi.

After a good start to the race, fabio quartararo tumbled down the rankings to 14th place, while Johann zarco made a mistake on the fourth lap.
