Franco Morbidelli says he is boosted by the special livery that the VR46 team will sport at Mugello, and hopes to achieve solid results there.
Franco Morbidelli arrives at his home Grand Prix fourth in the championship. He has finished in the top five 11 times this season, with three podiums to his name, and hopes to repeat the experience in front of his friends and fans.
The #21 driver has a great consistency in his favor, which was undermined during four races, between Sunday's race at Jerez and the sprint at Silverstone. He then had a series of blank results, two 15th places and an 11th position. But since then, he has returned to the top 5.
This gives us reason to hope for good things for this weekend on home soil, especially since he's coming straight from the test he conducted the day after the last Grand Prix, in Aragon. Having missed the Jerez test at the end of April due to a neck injury, he was finally able to complete an intense day of testing to find more feeling for the rear of his Desmosedici.
Saying he's ready for Mugello, he'll redouble his motivation with a special livery, which he and the entire VR46 team will sport throughout the weekend. The bike won't wear it until Sunday, but this particular design, designed by Valentino Rossi, Aldo Drudi and singer Cesare Cremonini, boosts even more Morbidely to make it shine.
“We’re arriving ready for the Italian Grand Prix and we can’t wait to race in front of all our fans. Of course, riding with a special livery at Mugello on Sunday is always special, you get a different feeling on track. Valentino and the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team are giving us the opportunity to have this livery, so it’s our turn, as riders, to try to do a good job to take these beautiful colors where they deserve to be, as high as possible. I can’t wait to do the first laps at Mugello with the team.”, did he declare.
