Freshly signed with KTM Tech3, Maverick Vinales continues his mission with Aprilia in Assen. On a track which has always been successful for him and which suits the qualities of the RS-GP, he hopes to get a good result, which would allow him to get back into this race for the top 3 which he seems to have left for some time now. Indeed, since his victory in Austin, he has been more discreet, sometimes more than his teammate Aleix Espargaro a few months before retirement. But in the cathedral, everything is possible.
Maverick Vinales is a happy man at the end of this Practice. He finished second, very close to leader Pecco Bagnaia. « The other Aprilias are further behind, so today I managed to exceed the limits of the bike. I am satisfied, because sometimes we ask for more but the results do not come, whereas today it happened. » However, we should not declare victory too quickly. During the last races, we saw him fast in practice but he was unable to convert his efforts into points once Saturday came.

It's always a pleasure to be at the front, of course, and he's not going to complain about it. « It's nice to have this feeling. In terms of race pace, Bagnaia and Marquez went very fast, at the moment the three of us are the best. I felt good with the soft tires” he declared to the microphones of Sky Sports not long ago.
Very strong in qualifying, he could well be one of the protagonists of Saturday. « I think we can fight for the best positions. It’s true that Bagnaia is strong; he has the bike in hand, but I'm going to give it my all. This track is fast and physical, I will do my best to stay in front » promises “Top Gun,” who can count on his dazzling natural talent when he shows up.
