Alex Rins' nightmarish start to the season continues at Assen. In a particularly busy weekend for Yamaha, which will have a new satellite team next year, the pilots playing under Iwata's awning make some progress. The last pieces seem to work for Fabio Quartararo, in the points – he was still on the Sprint podium at Assen last year – but much less for Alex Rins. The Spaniard hasn't played anything at all since Friday; so much so that he was the last driver to cross the finish line earlier in the day.
But who could have imagined that the experience would turn out so badly for someone who had achieved the feat of winning the Honda after only three races? Alex Rins stagnates. « It was a bit hard. I didn't have the best start, but I still had a good start. But then I had difficulty taking turns: as soon as I released the brakes, I started to cover a lot of extra distance, so I couldn't tour as much as I wanted." he said at the end of this Saturday.

Like Honda, Yamaha is trying to take advantage of races by transforming them into test sessions. That doesn't make the task easy, but that's what the mission wants. « You know, we're taking baby steps forward. It's so difficult to test things during a GP. But we have gathered information for tomorrow and we are going to change bikes a little, to see if we can go a little faster in the race » added Alex Rins.
The end of the season promises to be long, and even if Pramac Racing will complete the ranks in 2025, nothing can suggest a complete turnaround in just two seasons.
