The years pass but his memory continues to be maintained. A new tribute has just been paid to the Italian pilot, who tragically disappeared on October 23, 2011.

It has already been seven years since Marco Simoncelli left us during the Malaysian Grand Prix. Even though the years have passed, his mark is still present in the world of MotoGP, but also in his native region.

After the creation of the Marco Simoncelli Foundation in 2012 and the Simoncelli Museum in Coriano, his hometown, in 2014, his nomination as a MotoGP Legend in 2014 and the addition of his name to the “Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli” in 2016, a new tribute, among others, has been added to all those already made in memory of SuperSic.

The school he attended and graduated from in 2006, the Institut Leon Battista Alberti di Rimini, decided to dedicate its main room to him in memory of his years of study at the establishment .

Simoncelli then received a score of 81/100. His diploma was presented to his father, Paolo Simoncelli, in the presence of many people. The latter, very moved, recalled how proud he and his wife had been that their son kept his promise to complete his schooling before devoting himself solely to motorcycles.

Among those present were many representatives of local institutions, but also drivers Mattia Pasini, Michele Pirro, Alex De Angeli, Enea Bastianini, Stefano Manzi and Matteo Ferrari. Pasini and De Angelis also attended this school at the time.
