The starting grid for tomorrow's MotoGP is taking shape. THE VR46 will be present with the Saudi Aramco, Aprilia will be there under his own name, Gresini is looking for its partner manufacturer, a concern that will not be that of Hervé Poncharal's men. Indeed, the French Tech3 team has the assurance of continuing with KTM until 2026. The agreement is official.

It is done ! KTM extends its beneficial partnership until 2026 MotoGP with Tech3 KTM Factory Racing. There will be four full-factory KTM RC16s on the MotoGP grid for the next five seasons after KTM renewed its association with the Tech3 KTM Factory Racing team, which brought the brand two victories in the premier Grand Prix class.

The 2021 season marks exactly twenty years since the entry of the French team into the major discipline of the FIM Grand Prix world championship. Tech3 was founded in 1990 and won titles in the old 250cc class before making the jump.

Pete Beirer, the Director of KTM Motorsports commented: “ We are very proud to announce a new five-year agreement with Tech3. This is a very important strategic decision for us as part of our long-term strategy in this sport. We have already agreed our participation with Dorna for a further five years and it was vital to have this foundation and stability in MotoGP by renewing our agreement with Tech3.

Tech3 and KTM share the same values

Over the past years we have built our structure and now it offers an incredible path from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, Moto3, Moto2 and then four valuable places in the premier class where we want to succeed. With Hervé and the Tech3 team, we have the ideal partner and we view the entire operation as part of one team. It's more than a pleasure to say that we will be able to tackle the next five years together ».

Hervé Poncharal, Team Director adds: “ I feel very proud, very privileged and very honored to announce the renewal of our partnership with KTM. I believe we will be the first independent team to announce a five-year agreement with a manufacturer in MotoGP history. This is a real achievement and it also highlights the strength of our relationship and how well the first three years of our partnership have worked. It is certain that the year 2020 is still in our memories. Tech3 KTM won two races, KTM simply won three races, but I believe the best is yet to come.

We share the same values, the same goal, which is to never give up and be ready to run. Now that this agreement is concluded, signed and confirmed, we will work even harder on the 2021 season and, of course, we will think about how to best prepare ourselves for our new contract which begins in 2022. I truly believe that This organization has all the ingredients to win and it's just up to us to put all the pieces together to make it work and chase victory in every round.".
