Yamaha did not shine at Mugello. From Friday onwards, Fabio Quartararo, the team's star, admitted all the difficulties he was experiencing riding the YZR-M1On Sunday, after finishing the race, he openly hinted that his motivation had vanished and that he was mainly trying to avoid crashing to prevent injury. The result was painful: Miller finished 15th, scoring one point, Toprak Razgatlioglu 16th, and Fabio Quartararo 18th. Alex Rins, meanwhile, qualified directly for Q2 but crashed during the GP. Paolo Pavesio, the team manager, MotoGPhad to speak out publicly.

Through a video posted on Yamaha's social media channels, Paolo Pavesio delivered a clear and unambiguous message. He acknowledged that Yamaha was unable to provide its riders with sufficient equipment in Italy. « It was a difficult weekend at MugelloUnfortunately, we were unable to find the setup that would allow us to make significant progress after the Jerez tests and the Le Mans and Barcelona Grands Prix. We couldn't give our riders the right feeling at the front. This weekend, the motorcycle was difficult to ride and, despite all the riders' efforts, it was difficult to score more than one point in the constructors' championship." he declared.

The situation is quite critical, but everyone suspects that Yamaha already has its sights set on 2027 and the new prototype. "The positive point after such a weekend is that we are already ready for the next race. The Balaton Park circuit is completely different from Mugello and the circuits we have raced on this season. It will therefore be interesting to see the potential of our motorcycle. he concluded.

It is an admission of weakness, certainly, but it is a shame that this weekend has clouded the relationship between Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha, since the Frenchman has nevertheless achieved some great performances since the start of the season, notably at Le Mans and in Catalonia. The sequel promises to be explosive.
