Pecco Bagnaia wanted to pay tribute to Luca Salvadori, who tragically died during a race in Germany. The MotoGP world champion knew Luca personally, with whom he had shared the track on several occasions during training. Pecco expressed his deep sadness on social media, recalling not only Salvadori's talent as a rider, but also the passion and enthusiasm he brought to the world of two wheels.
« Luca Salvadori had become a point of reference, not only for me, but for all motorcycle sports enthusiasts. In a world that works a little backwards, where success is not always forgiven, he has always objectively commented on each race, session, event.
It had become a fixed appointment.
Not only for words, but also for the way he was able to make himself heard.
Whenever he offered to do an interview or chat, I was always happy to share my thoughts with him, because he was extremely positive… one of those people you want to listen to because they convey a huge passion for what they do and that is a privilege for a few.
I will never forget those three laps of the track in Portimao that we did together… Once we returned to the box, he was ecstatic, I have rarely seen someone happier than that.
He managed to turn his passion into a profession and he put his all into it., never giving up, always believing.
Luca will not only be missed by me, but to everyone, because people like him are essential in our world.
Him, with Alberto Naska, The Talking Helmet et Our Pilots, started something that has never been done, pushing many more people to follow this incredible sport in a different way… almost as close as a television can get.
Thanks Luca.
We will miss you ».
The loss came as a shock to the motorcycling community, and the words of bagnaia reflect the impact that Salvadori had on those who knew him, so much on the track than outside.
