Francesco Pecco Bagnaia already had plenty to think about after a nasty puncture that snatched him off the podium at Sepang. But it was ultimately just a minor detail in the anger boiling inside him. This Sunday in Malaysia, Pecco let loose—and the target was neither his GP25 nor bad luck… but Dorna.
The reason? The documentary released this week for the 10th anniversary of the #SepangClash — the explosive affair that pitted Valentino Rossi et Marc Marquez in 2015. A scar that never really healed.
Pecco is furious: " some roles were portrayed in a slightly distorted way... Publishing this on a Thursday, Sic's birthday, was really not a good idea »
The two-time MotoGP world champion did not mince his words: according to him, there are decisions that can only be made by people disconnected from the riders' sensibilities.
And he drives the point home: “ The idea of releasing this documentary, if you will, was not very wise. »
For bagnaia, the problem is not so much the story being told… but the way it is told. The narration. The protagonists selected. The tone.

Pecco Bagnaia: “ They contacted me at the beginning of the year, I said it wasn't the time »
So much so that he himself refused to appear there when Dorna asked him: " They contacted me at the beginning of the year, I said it wasn't the time »
Unlikely witnesses, a disturbing reinterpretation... Pecco points out a total inconsistency in the casting of the documentary: Andrea Dovizioso, who admits " not remember anything anymore » Ayumu Sasaki, which wasn't even in the MotoGP class at the time... " Sasaki had nothing to do with it, poor thing... »
It's like a dream. The clash of the decade, told by... those who didn't live it. An editorial choice that bagnaia seems to judge deeply disrespectful for a still burning story.
And suddenly, bagnaia…in the pictures. Tragic irony: while he refused to participate, we see a very young Pecco in Rossi's box in 2015, applaud after contact between Rossi et Marquez.
These images immediately resurfaced on social media… to accuse bagnaia of having "a selective memory." His response? The same incomprehension as for the release of the documentary: why bring out private footage from a box, 10 years later?
Le MotoGP dreams of a "Netflix-style" storytelling. But here, he touches on a collective trauma, always inflammable: Rossi vs. Marquez, passion vs. controversy, myth vs. resentment.
And Pecco reminds us: there are stories that should be treated with caution. Not with a marketing calendar.
In Malaysia, bagnaia lost a podium. But it is Dorna which risks the biggest risk: that of rekindling a war that it will no longer be able to extinguish.
