When, during the last German Grand Prix, Jack Miller reported that he had almost fallen while carrying out his so-called long lap penalty imposed for having fallen during FP4 under yellow flag regime, we did not quite understand the shade. We will remember, in passing, that the Australian finished third last weekend on the Sachsenring turnstile… Jack Miller served his sentence in the fourth round with a style that Johann zarco would not envy him, he who gave a more or less identical spectacle during a race in Brno. However, for a factory official Ducati who let him go in the direction of KTM, the added value in the exercise are these vicious gravels left in particular by Joan mir and his own teammate Pecco Bagnaia who had just fallen...

« The long lap was the trickiest part of the race, there were several stones in the middle and I almost lost the lead » explained later Miller, who lost only three positions. From there, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider rebuilt his race, overtaking Jorge Martín et Fabio Di Giannantonio, before falling on a Aleix Espargaro who remained in front of the Australian until the 27th lap.

A braking error in the first corner gave Miller third place on the podium. A great reward also made easier by the technical problem of Maverick Vinales on his Aprilia. There remains this cliché of the long lap which impressed his peers, until Marc Marquez who doesn't miss a beat from their living room...
